About I4C
Innovate4Climate (I4C) is the World Bank Group’s flagship global conference on carbon pricing and carbon markets. Since its launch in 2017, I4C has brought together governments, businesses, financial institutions, investors, and climate leaders from around the world to support the evolution of carbon pricing and carbon markets from early design to implementation.
Convened by the World Bank Group, the conference is delivered through a collaboration of public, private, and multilateral partners, with Germany and Spain as founding partners and lead sponsors, and the International Carbon Action Partnership (ICAP) and the International Emissions Trading Association (IETA) as key partners.
More than a conference, I4C serves as a platform for collaboration, knowledge exchange, and innovation, bridging policy and practice, and connecting ideas with investment. Through high-level dialogues, technical workshops, a marketplace, and networking opportunities, I4C fosters partnerships and delivers practical solutions that help translate climate ambition into measurable action and climate-smart development.
I4C 2026
The Innovate4Climate (I4C) 10th anniversary edition took place in Singapore, from May 20 to May 22, 2026. With Asia as one of the most dynamic regions for carbon pricing and carbon markets, the conference took place at a pivotal moment, as the focus shifts to delivery: making systems work at scale and linking them to finance.
I4C 2026 registered the strongest attendance in recent years, signaling renewed global momentum behind carbon market development. More than 1,000 participants from across regions and sectors registered for the forum’s four plenary events and 12 technical workshops focused squarely on advancing implementation, strengthening market infrastructure, and scaling up carbon finance solutions. The participation of more than 80 policy champions, industry leaders, and technical experts as speakers and moderators underscored the global convening power of the World Bank Group. More than 25 side events and roundtables complemented the core program, tackling priority policy and technical developments, including Article 6 operationalization, market integrity, and regulatory frameworks.
With implementation at its core, I4C centered on a dynamic marketplace, with over 20 exhibitors, bringing governments into direct engagement with solution providers, investors, and market practitioners to explore practical pathways from policy to finance. This model reflects I4C's shift from dialogue to delivery, creating space for hands-on engagement, problem-solving, and connection.

Previous Editions
Previous I4C editions took place in Sevilla (I4C 2025), Berlin (I4C 2024), Bilbao (I4C 2023), online (I4C 2022, 2021 and 2020), Singapore (I4C 2019), Frankfurt (I4C 2018), and Barcelona (I4C 2017). Looking ahead, the 2027 edition, to be hosted in Germany, will provide a forum to continue to supporting countries in their carbon pricing and markets engagements.
